Our real reality store was founded by Papa Fred on Knickerbocker Ave. and Sedan street in Brooklyn New York, over 40 years ago. Papa Fred's store soon had a reputation as one of the best Italian Specialty stores in New York. And "Papa Fred" became famous for the quality, freshness and superb flavor of his fresh Italian specialty sausage (we still use his original recipes).

In 1983 Papa Fred saw that many of his customer's were moving to the suburbs of Long Island. So he and son Richie moved with them and opened a new store. I joined the family business in 1984.

Papa Fred taught us both. His formula for success? - "First Quality Food at practical prices and fast courteous service to every customer". and through the years we have followed that formula. We are now serving the third and fourth generation of Papa Fred's original customers. How's that for customer loyalty!

In 1995 Richie and I began using the Internet - we thought it was wonderful and perhaps it offered us an opportunity to expand the business. People kept asking us to pack and ship food to friends and relatives in various parts of the country. They kept telling us, "They can't get Real Italian Food where they live." So for years our customer's have had us pack up Italian delicacies to carry to family in Florida, Texas, Arizona, or anywhere else in the United States. That's why we decided to open a store in cyberspace - Salami.com. So now, instead of asking family and friends to bring you your favorite Italian specialties, let us ship it to you direct. We will pick your order personally and guarantee its freshness and quality.

These past ten years of doing business on the Internet have been astounding. Our first order came from Tokyo - and our first customer Mike continues to order from us still. We have met and serviced new customers through the Internet all over the world. We now get over 250,000 visitors a year! We have been written up in Newspapers, magazines and books all over the world. Our web site has won all sorts of awards. We have been on TV, Salami.com is even taught as a fine example of an Ecommerce web site in at least 4 colleges as far as we know.
